Not a cloud in the sky
Finally we have some warm dry weather. This is definitely lifting my spirits.

Fruit is my favourite snack. I already had sliced banana on my porridge this morning. After dropping my son off at school, I bought some strawberries at our local fruit & veg shop. I made a big fruit salad. It’s tasty and sweet. Not even tempted to sprinkle sugar on top nowadays. I try to buy fruit that’s in season, but the smell of the strawberries lured me in and was hard to resist. It’s feel good food (and thankfully no Propoints on Weight Watchers!).
This afternoon, instead of sitting at home and feeling miserable, I went out to meet my friend for coffee. We sat in comfy chairs and chatted for a few hours. Much better than mulling over bad thoughts on my own!
I must try to add more social contact in my life. I dread it so much, often cop out or make excuses to avoid it, but it is something that usually really helps.
I bought some plants at the market and put them in our garden. This cheered me up and makes our empty flowerbed look a lot better. They should spread out and flower each year.
I posted about this over on my blog already but I really wanted to drag it over here as well. It’s one of those things that contribute to this moo’s happiness and I like to share.
Meditation, and specifically mindfulness of breathing, helps a lot with low mood and anxiety. It calms and brings a few moments of focus.
I felt horrid this morning and I rang up work to say I wasn’t coming in. I lied and said there was a family emergency. I hate lying and I am terrible at it. Fortunately, I had some time to think now and put my priorities straight.
Feeling like I am in a dark black pit and I can’t climb out. But the faint light on the top keeps me trying.
Sometimes all you need is a good hug, a passionate kiss and/or great sex.
As part of trying to improve my self-confidence and claim more independence, I am going to learn to drive. I am now insured, provisionally licenced and ready to get behind the wheel. It’s been long overdue. I plan to learn some basics with my husband and then get lessons with an instructor.
